This is one of several classes to systematically develop a myriad of woodworking skills that will lead each individual to be able to confidently and safely create and operate in a professional shop setting. This series of classes will act as foundational stepping stones for those looking to develop long-term skills in this timeless craft.

This 7 week machinery class introduces participants to the fundamental machinery essential for woodworking projects in a shop. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience, allowing students to become comfortable using each machine while adhering to safety guidelines. Throughout the class, instructors demonstrate best practices in woodworking, including material selection, machine setup, finish work and problem solving, ensuring that students gain the confidence needed to tackle their own woodworking projects with skill and precision.

The class emphasizes safety practices and encourages hands-on experience, allowing individuals to explore their creativity while understanding the principles of design and craftsmanship. Through guidance from experienced instructors, students will cultivate a deeper appreciation for wood as a versatile medium, setting the stage for more advanced projects and a lifelong passion for woodworking.

The Goal is Community

Here at DK Woodworks, our priority is people. We recognize that community is not only the backbone of our business, but that is cultivates and grows who we are as people. We aim to prioritize local engagement by collaborating and teaching with other local artisans to foster a supportive network. By participating in community events and workshops, we aim to share our passion for woodworking and craftsmanship, while also giving back to the very people who support us. Our commitment to sustainability and responsible practices not only enhances our products but also contributes to the well-being of the Eastern Sierra region we call home.

Developing a sense of community in the craft world through woodworking classes significantly fosters connection and creativity among participants. These classes provide a welcoming space where individuals of all skill levels and backgrounds can come together to learn, share techniques, and collaborate on exciting projects. As they engage in various hands-on activities, participants not only enhance their craftsmanship but also cultivate lasting relationships that extend beyond the workshop. The meaningful exchange of ideas and diverse experiences nurtures an enriching environment of support and inspiration, encouraging a genuine sense of belonging within the craft community. By fostering these vital connections, woodworking classes become much more than just skill-building sessions; they transform into vibrant, dynamic hubs for creativity, collaboration, and shared growth.
